Evidence that the Book of Mormon occurred in North America:

I recently attended a Book of Mormon evidence conference. I listened to a number of panels that gave archaeological evidence of where certain things could have occurred in Northern America that matched the Book of Mormon. It was a great conference. I’m sharing my notes in my Teaching Embellishments blog as it’s a great topic.

The Nephies lived the Law of Moses, and there were very specific plans and animals that need to be used for the ceremonies. No exchanges could be made, and only North America has all the animals and plants needed to live the law. There is only one in South America.
Jacob , 4: 4 – 5

Panel: Legislation Session 2015:

Facebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedin

Tonight I attended a political meeting with several legislators discussed some of the events for the 2015 events. These are the notes I took. Any inaccuracies are my fault.

Panel: Legislation Session 2015: with Sen. Margaret Dayton, Mike Kennedy, Alvin Jackson, and Sen. Brian Green
The legislature officially meets one time a year, but throughout the year they come up and spend two or three days discussing perspective deals and become familiar with what’s going to be presented at the main meeting.
Margaret Dayton: She has two goals 1. Support the Constitution. 2. Support traditional family. Thomas Jefferson quotes, “when people feel government. You have tyranny on governments fears the people you have liberty. She is happy that the legislator passed the bill for students had to take citizen tests. She invites us to take that same test.
Brian Greene District 57: some laws do not support citizen liberties. But they get enacted in increments. One example is the seatbelt law. First it was presented that children should be in seatbelts. Parents accept it because kids can make their own decisions. Second, seatbelt requirement is considered a secondary offense. No seatbelts can be ticketed when someone is pulled up for a different reason. The third phase, where the liberties are restricted even further in the sample size for own good to have the seatbelts and people who are called out the seatbelts have to pay $30 or take an educational course. In the next couple years will be the lot to have mandatory seatbelts for adults.
Mark Kennedy: syndication with the legislature can be compared to a realtor, home seller and the buyer. The realtor is similar to those who want to push certain things into law. Like a realtor. They don’t want the homeowner and the homebuyer to communicate. Don’t let bureaucracy be a voice for you.
Q&A: bill 296. Only about 10 legislators voted against the bills (gay rights) and Bill 297. (Religious liberty) the Constitution was to protect you from the government. The government is getting more and more power on dictating what you can do. Now you have to ask what they don’t control. Bills introduced to the legislature have good points and bad points. The legislators will often see the good points, and not given enough attention to the bad points. With the passage of the gay rights, gays are designated a special protection class.
Article 5 of the Constitution discusses the constitutional convention. Failure against the bill occurred because not enough conservatives in the legislator. Sometimes when legislators are not certain of how to vote, consider the feedback from their constituents.
The LDS church provided public pressure. They did so by having a media conference was to apostles visiting the legislator. The individual members were not approached or given pressure. The people who will benefit the most from certain bills are the ones that applaud those bills when they were approved.
HR J7 was moved forward by Gov. Rosic a guest speaker. The speech/visit was to pressure a positive vote. The members gather together about 2 to 3 days each month to review upcoming bills. People can view the session of the legislator meets 2 to 3 days a month by going to the following website LE.Utah.gov. It will tell about the bill and who the sponsors are etc.
The two biggest times make influences upon legislators is right after the election is the most susceptible to the voice of the people and the last week of the session. For example, the gas bill was passed at 11:49 PM.
The military will be conducting military practice during the summer in Utah, Texas and other states which many people object to. Texas has responded by having their operations monitored by the state military. It’s recommended that you encourage our Utah Gov. to do the same thing
– Look up infowars.com
– The NSA originally came from a program called trailblazer and acquired $4 billion to begin.

Building different economies and political systems:

Facebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedin

It was another great year at Life the Universe and Everything. These are the notes I took from Building economic and political systems. Good info.
– Use existing political systems as a model, and then make changes. When you make those changes ask what affects your specific changes will make on the culture.
– The character actions and motivations may be determined by either the political or economic creation of the world.
– How food is introduced, determines the level of cultural development. If food has an easy source of being provided. The more advanced the culture and develop society.
– The problems of the characters are influenced by the level of interaction and development of economic and political influences.
– Look at the different things that influence and drive economics. For example, people make better weapons to fight and pierce armor. Better armor is created to defend more effectively against improved weapons. And weapons and shields continue to advance as protection of one over the other. Another example is that glassmaker created because wine tastes better in class.
– The book. Mist born, has a magic system based on metals. So an important part of the plot is getting access to those precious metals.
– People develop technology to solve a problem or they follow the philosophy is sound like a good idea at the time.
– Look at the dangers and opportunities provided by world development.
– Book: gun, germs and tools by Jared diamond.
– Know your history. Political and economic systems influence what a protagonist must face in the story. Might be a source of plot.
– Most economics are based on the necessities and what is scarce. If it’s rare. It’s more expensive one good example is spice in the books. Do. Governments are driven by economics. They influence how government will respond to certain circumstance. Another example is that Star Trek the next generation does not have money and so in Deep Space 9, when one of the characters needed a baseball card. They didn’t have money. So they had to rely upon the Ferengi bar owner to get the baseball card. Because up range have money.
– Another example of influence in the world is to the show firefly in the galaxy of planets, the more developed planets, or those that are closer to the central part of the system. For the planets that are positioned further away from the center of government, those planets are less developed in society and order. Another good example is stainless steel rat. In the book of planets ran by robots, everything is provided by robots. In the citizens have to take turns watching the dials to keep the machinery running. So the stainless steel rat had to take a turn as a pretend citizen to get access to the machinery of the world.
– When technology advances man becomes less involved in the production of food and survival needs.
– How to break out the stereotype is to view the world from the people’s perspective of that culture. You see it from their motivations and attitudes.
– Every society has some form of religious observance. Determine what the people have feelings for and faith in.

Over a year ago, I attended a workshop on different types of business ventures. Here are some of the things I learned about seven driving forces.

Focus 80% of your time and energy on 20% of your work that is really important
80% of your sales come from 20% of your customers
80% of your problems come from 20% of your customers
20% of your customers account for 80% of your sales volume
80% of the money spent on marketing is wasted
20%. The advertising euros 80% results
You need to think of the 20% of your time and money and energy to be directed to those activities that provide 80% income.
You have to be very conscientious and wise on how you spend 80% of your time and that 80% of time provides little results
Seven building blocks of your business model time is 80/20.

Temples, ramps and the land of Zarahemla

Facebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedin

I’m taking a break from object lessons in my Monday blog as I want to share the notes I took from the book of Mormon conference. Since these notes are religious in nature. I think they can be of interest.
These are notes from a lecture, Temples, ramps, and the land of Zarahemla. I attended while attending the book of Mormon evidence conference. The theory, that the events of the book Mormon occurred in South America comes from three articles that were written in the city newspaper in Nauvoo, Illinois. John Neville has written the book unraveling the secret of who was the true author of those three articles are.
In the book of Mormon Zarahemla is north of the land of the Nephi and Manti. The geography of the book of Mormon is in lower in evaluation than Manti and the geography of Ohio matches those descriptions.
Some historians object to Mississippi being the River Siden because of the word head of the River Siden. Looking at an old dictionary’s interpretation of head can also mean conflux. A conflux means a meeting of waters. In a section of the Mississippi needs that qualification.
There are times when the river Mississippi has an average of 2 to 3 feet in depth. There are references in church history, of people riding their horses across the river.
From this lecture, I heard a story of James Munro as a child getting lost in the woods and George Washington in finding him, giving him a ride back home. Now that I know about this story I have to keep an eye out for additional references when I read US history books.

If you have additional information on this subject, please feel free to share it in the comment section this blog.
