These are some notes of a talk from church. Any inaccuracies are the fault of the note taker.

  • In 2018; invite each of member to pay more attention to the temple in our lives.  Think how this can happen. It should be regular and consistent. Sincere in our prayers and scripture study etc. All members can find a creative way in our busy lives to give a little more attention to the temple. One way is to work on our family history.
  • Had a goal to spend one hour each month on family history.
  • 6% of membership was participating in online history now as a stake we are up to 12%. More names are being found and more ordinances are being done and more families are being sealed. We renew that invitation.
  • To attend regularly. There is no substitute for being there. President Hinckley says you will gain blessings there that you can gain anywhere else on the earth. I hope everyone gets to the temple on a regular basis. If we are attending the temples, we will become a better people. Go to the h house of the Lord you will be blessed and our lives will be blessed. (Paraphrase Pres. Kimble.
  • There is not anything that they have done that can keep people from attending the temple if you have the desire.
  • There is no more important goal to work for than to be worthy to go to the temple.
  • Until you have entered the house of the lord and received all the blessings that are there, you have not received everything that the church has to offer.
  • As we find the time to be there great blessings will occur in all aspects of our lives.
  • Give more time to time to the temple do a more rigorous study of the doctrines and obedience to the convenient, we will get a stronger understanding and faith of these principals.
  • If the family is the most important thing in eternity then God will ensure that the family continues.
  • The Prophet Elijah restored seal of the parents to the sons and the daughters in 1836. Elijah mission applies as much on this side of the veil as it does on the other side.
  • Elder Packer: it is a great challenge to raise a family in the darkening mists of our environment. It is not uncommon for responsible parents to lose their children for a lie. They agonize over rebellious sons and daughters. We cannot overemphasize the value of temple marriage and standards of worthiness required of them. When parents keep their convents their children will be ever bound to them. (Paraphrase such doctrine pries a measure of hope for all of us
  • Our Heavenly Father is much more literal and boundless in his law then we are ready to believe.
  • Don’t doubt the power of your covenants.
  • Everyone will remember.
  • Narrow-minded man-made limitations on what God can or can’t do.
  • Attend the temple and obey our covenants.

Good: Democracy

Bad: Democery

First I need to remember the word DEMO in both words.

Maybe remember two Cs in democracy for country and community and A for America. We’ll see if that works.

Can you think of a better trick to remember the spelling? If you do, please share in the comment section of this blog.

Meeting with Chris Herrod

Facebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedin

Here are my notes at the meeting with Chris Herrod. It occurred at his home. any inaccuracies is the fault of the note taker.

Q: How I will vote.

My dad taught me the love of this country. Had a neighbor who was one of the founders of the freedom festival. I got to go to a lot of events. I met a lot of people who came to the US for freedom. I met the Russian pilot who defected and a boy who air glided from Cuba to the US for freedom. I went with a friend who studied in Europe. The experience reinforced my worldview.  Saw the iron wall.  Went to West Berlin. Took the official Berlin tour of East Berlin the bus went back and forth on the main street which was nice and nowhere beyond that. Guide talked about the wonders of socialism.

I wanted to see the real East Berlin so went through the border. Guard pointed to Checkpoint Charley. Went through the wall and found out that the rest of the buildings away from Main Street are degraded. The streets still had bullet holes in the walls. No improvements of the city for 40 yrs. Provided products that none would buy. You could feel the oppressive nature.  Could feel that if I ran to West Berlin I could be shot.

I served 6 yrs. in the Utah legislator. Learned what the federal government does to the state. Six% of the budget of our funding for education comes from government and 90% of the rules. If you take federal money, you must meet their conditions.

The unspoken rule in the legislator is don’t make noise and you can eventually get a chair of a committee. Instead, teamed up with others of a like mind and created the Patrick Henry Caucus.  Five of us influenced each election. I helped with Utah’s standing to change Obama care.

Involved with a bill related the federal lands.

I went to Vernal when the undersecretary came to Utah.  Realized how to control federal govern has over Utah.

I see a correlation between Russian and the management of our lands. Gas is Russia’s primary need. If we can develop our resources we can keep gas under $70 a barrel and that can limit Russia’s power.

The only way to get out of the financial mess is that we have to use our natural resources as part of the solution.

Why jump back in. I felt there was no other conservative in the race.

Went to Sweden and encountered the health care center there.

In 1992 I graduated at the time when everything was collapsing in Russia. I took a teaching job in Ukraine. Flew from Moscow to Harkett Ukraine.  While there I witnessed what socialism has done to the society. It hurts the family, weakens society.  For my marriage, my dad (a surgeon) came visited a hospital in Ukraine. Dad said if you get sick crawl on a plane and come home. My wife had to go to the hospital and got 7-inch scar could have been half an inch scar if done in the US.

Regan: the only thing that Russians believe in is brute force. Putin is a good chess player and realizes he is a transactions player.  Russia has invaded the Ukraine. We need Russia’s help to deal with North Korea.

War with Seria is a proxy war. I believe I would have never met my wife had it not been for Russia’s tough policies.

In 1992 I was a teacher in the Ukraine. He was met at the  When sponsor was asked to sleep with foreigners, she turned them down. Her career suffered as a result. There are three types of people Good people, dead people and bad people. Bad are people who are dead to the spirit.

Q: How do you feel about Bundy situation:

You may want to hear the event prior to the Bundys. I have a friend who is a federal Marshall who shared this. Before the Bundies in Sanwhan county, there were some people who gathered some native America artifacts (such as arrow heads from the ground etc). Some decided to sell some. Had they been told to report to the court they would have gone The Federal government responded by sending 150 police officers who raided the town. Their arrival terrorized the town. It really upset everyone. A doctor of the town committed suicide. Marshall felt that the BLM over reacted.

He is concerned about the overreach of government over federal land. Federals were looking for a shootout at the Bundy ranch.  Other ranchers had been forced to sell their land.  They refused to sale their land. Has had it for 1 hundred years.

A federal officer helped develop a bill to take police force powers from the BLM.

15 yr ago I did some real estate development. I was told to make $100 K worth of changes that were not required by law. I had a choice to follow their requests or fight it for 200K.  People who would never rip me off personally; but, when they are in government they will extract more than what is required.

There has been a shift of power. We have too much power shifted back to Washington. Legislative branch gave too much authority to the executive branch.  Agencies are making the laws and that power should go back to legislators.

Q: How do you feel about Trump?

Happy with what Trump did with Bears ears.  People in small towns could use mining as an occupation. The small towns are dying. You job options is hotel work, waitress/waiter. Bears Ears was for 50 acers originally. Utah small towns are shrinking.

During the election, I ran a Ted Cruise campaign. Got 69% liked he voted for Judge Gorsuch and grand staircase national monument. Utah has $2 trillion of cleanest burning coals. Helped Trump later.

Don’t support special prosecutors against Trump when there is insufficient cause

Q: What would be your highest priory as a representative?

1.We need to address the budget. The Ukraine lived through high, hyperinflation. Within a year the a family’s lifesaving can evaporate within a year. I will immediately will go to the speaker and leadership. I will tell them I will not vote for any increase that does include 10 yr plan to get back to normal. They create a crisis such as Senior citizens will not get their checks.  I will work with the other 30 like-minded people.

As a Utah state legislature, I helped pass a base budget. I have a ten yr. plan that can balance the budget but cutting %5 of last year’s budget.

2 Restoring the original intent of the constitution.

3 Balance the power between congress, executive and judicial.

I have an expertise of foreign  policy.  Islom does not lend itself to western values.

Q: North Korea:

Once a country has nuclear weapons it is hard to do anything. The danger is that North Korea could do an EMP over the US. It would ruin our technology. Things I heard in Europe was that Regan was low educated and a cowboy. The same is now being said of Trump.

Q: Immigration and DACA:

I believe that the law should be followed. I have 12 legal immigrants in my neighborhood. They are against illegal immigration..

This country had benefited by immigrants and assimilation ton the middle class. Mexicans are hurt because they don’t want to break the rules.  If you reward illegal behaver you get more of it.

I passed first human trafficking bill in Utah.  We should argue for the first position. Once a certain class has reached a certain level in the population they no longer merge into the culture.

Q: How will you work with Mitt:

Helped on the campaign for mitt as president.

Q: Term limits:

I signed pledge won’t stay more than 10 yrs or Senate maybe 18 yrs.

Q: What do you look for in a speaker:

Allows the bills to be heard. Get accountability.  It puts legislatures on record. Prefer a speaker that has my political slant.

Criticism I get the most is that I’m too conservative. Look at Utah county platform those are the things I believe in. A gallop pole reported that 80% don’t of citizens don’t trust their elected leaders. People should say they are conservative but move from that during nonelection years. Not keeping your stance or values is not good.

Other part of my job is to help citizens navigate through problems.

Q: Why feel qualified:

I have international experience and legislative experience. Interference of the federal government has caused a lot of issue on Utah hill. Believe in 10th and state sovereignty. Life experiences gave warning of problems existing today. We are losing our constitutional rights. Everyone has a tendency that when there is a tragedy we step back. Went to two rallies. Pro-gun rally had about 800 people. Later the anti-gun had 8K with professionally printed signs etc. (Soros funded?): My concern is that kids are genuinely afraid at school. We are allowing our kids to be traumatized by guns.

Kids are not learning history. Socialism was the highest cause of death in the 1900s.  When we don’t give a background of the real threat to kids about shootings, we fail.

I am willing to take the house and stand up for what I right.

In radio interviews with KSL’s Doug Writing accused John of riding on his relationship’s origin.  Words of wife: She fears people will lose their freedom. People sleep of the problems. The early signs you can see. Russia had no freedom of religion or guns.

Q: What is your background in understanding the constitution?

I have read various books on the topic. Yes, I have read the federalist papers. We are losing a pure democracy. Kids don’t understand democracy (vote managed by majority) instead of a republic.

I vote from core principles.

A vocal attendee at the house has had a number of bad experiences with John Curtis as Mayer. She suggests we google ‘John Curtis exposed’. I didn’t find it.

Chris Herrod

https://herrodforcongress.com/#!#about

My name is Chis Herrod and I want to let you know why I am running (again).

I’d hoped a conservative that I knew, and I thought could win, would run. I did not want to end up in another 3-way primary. On the last day of filing, with only one signature gatherer in the race, (John Curtis), several friends encouraged me to run.  Because I had concerns about recent statements, I spoke to my wife, and I filed. Because I had not planned on running, I had to get a few things in order, but now I am fully engaged. Please see my schedule located on my website HerrodforCongress.com.

I’m a platform Republican. I’m not afraid to say what I truly believe. I’ve been a consistent conservative with a record of standing up for conservative principles, the Republican Platform, and the Constitution.  It has not always won me friends. I’ve served in the Utah House of Representatives, taught at Universities overseas, and have relationships on the national level.

I’m troubled when the first reaction of elected leaders after a tragedy happens, is to take a step back from our Constitutional Rights. I was greatly disappointed in our elected leader’s failure to provide perspective to calm our children’s fears after the terrible school shooting in Florida. Instead, the media and politicians sacrificed our students’ well-being to sell newspapers, push agendas, and pander to the middle for votes. Needlessly, many students around the nation seemed genuinely frightened and traumatized by the belief that their schools were unsafe.

Every premature death is tragic, but every frightened child and every concerned parent should understand this truth . . . there’s never been a safer time to be in school. In fact, there’s never been safer to be a child than today, and school is one of safest places for a child to be.1 Students are four times safer from school shootings than in the early 1990s.2

Rather than using our children as props and attempt to take away freedoms, those truly concerned about student safety should use the opportunity to teach the most relevant dangers . . . the most dangerous hazard of the day is driving – 800 times more dangerous than being shot at school.3 Students are over 400 times more likely to die from underage age drinking.4 To put it in perspective, the chances of dying from premarital sex (HIV, STDs, childbirth) is ten times greater than being shot at school.5 Let’s see CNN do a town hall on that! When deaths aren’t addressed by most dangerous first, motives become purely political and that is dangerous for our Republic.

When we don’t teach the truth and why the 2nd amendment is important, the other side can simply wait it out . . . wait for the next generation who has only been taught by the media and activists, and we eventually lose our freedoms. For me, the 2nd Amendment is not theoretical. I have friends who lost their parents to Stalin’s Gulags. An estimated 7-11 million were starved to death by Stalin in my wife’s native country. Another friend of mine was forced to shout “Red Terror” as teenagers were executed after his guns were taken away.

James Madison said: “Since the general civilization of mankind, I believe there are more instances of the abridgment of the freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power, than by violent and sudden usurpations.”

This is true whether it’s the 1st Amendment (SB 54), the 2nd Amendment, the 4th Amendment, or the ever-increasing ways that the government grows stronger and infringes on our God-given rights.

The reason I ran before remains the same. We are losing our country because we don’t teach Constitutional Principles and shy away from teaching when political correctness runs the strongest or when public opinion seems against us.  If you want someone who has the track record of standing-up, then please consider me.

Steven Stromness

My Political Faith

I believe in the existence of Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God.  In a manner of speaking, we cannot break these Laws, but we are capable of breaking ourselves upon them.

I believe in the self-evident truth that “All men are created equal.”  We do not need distant elites, who often believe they are better than the rest of us, to redistribute our wealth and regulate our every activity.

I believe that the United States Constitution was divinely inspired, and that we are most likely to prosper as we adhere to its principles.

________________________________________

Why I am Running for Congress

I believe we have a crisis of faith in Washington, DC (and in many places across our country).  As witnessed by many actions of our “leaders” in DC (and, most recently, the fiscally irresponsible budget deal increasing spending by another $300 billion over the next 2 years), too many of them do not believe in anything other than getting more power and prestige for themselves.  Or, if they do have such faith as I have outlined, they often forget and do not act according to their faith.  In fact, by and large, they are in a serious state of denial about the obvious.

Many of our “leaders” in DC have probably demonstrated significant managerial talent; otherwise they would not be there.  But, over all, they are managing the decline of our great country.

We do not need skillful managers to manage our decline.  We need leaders who have faith in sound principles, and then act in accordance with that faith.  Whatever my human weaknesses may be, I will work to provide leadership and example, consistent with my faith.

Balancing the Budget Resolution

The following below, and attached as a downloadable file, is the Resolution on Balancing The Budget proposed for consideration at May 20th, 2017 convention of the Utah State Republican Party.  I authored it, it passed the 2017 Utah State Republican Party Convention overwhelmingly, and it shows some of my thoughts about balancing the budget.

________________________________________

Resolution on Balancing The Budget proposed for consideration at May 20th, 2017 convention of the Utah State Republican Party:

Whereas the United States government has a debt of about $20 trillion, that has grown at a rate averaging about $1.2 trillion per year over the last nine years;

Whereas the United States Congress has gone far beyond spending authorized by Article I, Section 8 of the United States Constitution; and

Whereas it is dishonest to borrow money without intent to repay, and immoral to enslave future generations through careless borrowing;

Now, therefore, be it resolved that the Utah State Republican Party requests that the United States Congress:

  • bring national government spending, promising, and borrowing under control by identifying the hundreds of billions of dollars of appropriate spending cuts needed a) to reduce projected borrowing in the current fiscal year (2017); and b) to balance the annual national budget in Fiscal Year 2018, or as soon as reasonably possible thereafter; and
  • phase out national government spending not authorized by Article I, Section 8 of the United States Constitution.

Be it further resolved that the Utah State Republican Party disapproves of congressional action to increase the national debt ceiling without sufficient immediate spending cuts in the current fiscal year to put our government on a credible road to a balanced budget with honest accounting.

Be it further resolved that the Utah State Republican Party instructs the Chairman to authenticate and send copies of this resolution:

  • to the Utah State Republican Party’s delegation to the National Republican Committee;
  • to all Republican members of Utah’s Congressional delegation;
  • to Vice-President Mike Pence; and
  • to President Donald Trump.

John Curtis

Jobs & Economy

As a longtime businessman, I know that governments don’t grow the economy, entrepreneurs do. And entrepreneurs create more jobs when they are operating in a business-friendly environment. Our current corporate tax rate is too high and we are losing businesses to other countries with lower rates. Nothing will provide more economic relief and opportunity for people of all backgrounds than tax relief and regulatory reform for both individuals and businesses.

In Provo, I have found that when government gets out of the way it is amazing to see what incredible ideas come. Our approach in Provo has been to encourage, facilitate relationships, and be a transparent resource when needed for our local business community. As a result we have seen $1.5 billion in new construction and development in our Downtown. Old buildings are taking on a new life. Companies like Google Fiber look to Provo because we have created an environment where they know they can be successful. Washington D.C. would do well to take a lesson from Provo. There is an energy and optimism in our community.

2nd Amendment

After the unspeakable horror in Las Vegas, residents of Utah, myself included, are feeling a deep connection to the victims in Nevada. Many of us have stood where they fell and are realizing it could have been our friends, our wives, our children, or us. I think it’s important that we walk the fine line between politicizing this tragedy and using it  to engage in meaningful dialogue.

For our healing to move forward we need to all come together with an open mind about what happened and how to try and prevent it in the future. In the short term, I want to join the praise for the brave men and women who were first responders as well as those caught in the middle who risked their own safety to help others.

I support the right of law-abiding citizens to keep and bear arms, and I exercise that right. As any responsible gun owner knows, we have to do everything within our power to keep weapons out of the hands of criminals and the mentally ill. Like the rest of our Constitution, I believe the 2nd Amendment is a cornerstone of our democracy.

As we move forward,I hope to be a leader on this substantive discussion. I believe we can explore the critical issues without getting sucked into partisan bickering . As I travel the state, I will start this discussion with residents, hunters, parents and safety advocates. Not because this discussion is  comfortable, but because it is not. We owe it to the people who were senselessly murdered on October 1st—and to the many who have died in mass shootings before October 1st—to consider all points and make changes.

I agree with Senator Hatch that evidence of mental health problems should be part of the instant background check made when purchasing a gun. Hatch said: “We need to keep better records. Mental health problems that indicate violent behavior ought to be part of the instant check system.” He indicated that this alone won’t solve the problem of gun use by the mentally imbalanced, and “the media has to show some restraint” in reporting on incidents of gun violence so there aren’t so many “copy-cat” crimes.

I support legislation to protect children by requiring that guns be sold with a proper storage or gun safety device. By requiring that all guns be sold with safety devices, we will reinforce responsible safety practices. No minor should ever be able to obtain unsupervised or unauthorized access to a gun.

I’m concerned about any gun modifications that turn a legal semi-automatic weapon into a de-facto illegal automatic weapon. I think bump stocks deserves a hearing in Congress to answer questions and find out how the technology works and whether legislation, or working with gun manufacturers, is the best way to move forward.

I believe in crime control through prosecution of as many local gun-related crimes in federal court as possible to take advantage of federal mandatory minimum sentences and stiff bond rules . This provision does not create additional federal crimes, but instead utilizes existing federal statutes that are not being enforced to their fullest extent.

I believe that by listening to different points of view, making common-sense changes, and standing up for our citizens and our Constitution, we can move forward from this tragedy more unified and with more resolve against evil and violence than ever before.

Healthcare

The reality is that we have not had a free market healthcare system for many decades. Government involvement and regulation has distorted the market for a very long time and it is unrealistic to say we are going to roll everything back in the next four years. It’s a fact—Republicans weren’t ready when we got our chance to fix the problem. Frankly, I am frustrated and embarrassed that Congress had eight years to figure out how to repeal or fix Obamacare and they didn’t have their answer ready. Skyrocketing healthcare costs and lack of access are issues we cannot ignore, and the answer will come with more portability, flexibility, and transparency. It is time Congress got past trying to score political points and on to meaningful solutions for everyday Americans.

Veterans

These brave men and women risked their lives defending our freedom, courageously serving in our nation’s many conflicts and wars around the world. They are heroes and I believe we must honor their sacrifice and stand up for them at every turn.

I am pleased to endorse Mayor John Curtis’ congressional candidacy. As chairman of the Provo Veteran’s Council, I have worked with him for the past eight years on issues dealing with military personnel and veterans.

He has served as a speaker at our veterans events, and has played an important role in presenting awards to outstanding veterans for community service and military merit.

Mayor Curtis has take the time to show appreciation for military service throughout the valley, and I’m sure he will continue to be devoted to patriotic and veteran’s issues during his tenure in the U.S. Congress.

I give him my highest approval rating as a professional, competent leader and as an advocate for our servicemen and women, past and present.

Candidate competitor Brad Dew Dist. 60, Charles Lawson

Facebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedin

I’m Charles Larson, candidate for Utah Legislature, House District 60, challenging our incumbent Brad Daw for his seat. This week my campaign sent a direct mailing to each of you, but several delegates have informed me that it had not yet arrived with today’s mail delivery. The County Nominating Convention is tomorrow morning and I very much wanted you to have this information available to you going in, so I am emailing it to everyone just to be sure.

WE EITHER HAVE A CONSTITUTION – OR WE DON’T

Have you ever wondered why no Utah lawmaker has ever proposed a bill prohibiting the legislature from passing a law that undermines the authority of the United States Constitution?

The answer is simple: They don’t need to. The Utah State Constitution, Article I, Section 3, which reads: “The State of Utah is an inseparable part of the Federal Union and the Constitution of the United States is the supreme law of the land,”already does that. Or at least it’s supposed to.

How, then, was Rep Brad Daw (R), 6-term incumbent from House District 60, able to propose HB195 and HB197 during the 2018 legislative session – bills which would defy federal law, violate the Constitution’s supremacy clause, and have Utah authorize limited use of medical marijuana?

Was it out of Brad’s compassion for the suffering of the terminally ill? Perhaps, or we at least would like to think so. But even while sponsoring his bills (and defending them to his constituents since) Brad made it known that they were primarily intended as a “preemptive” measure to head off other pending actions – such as the ballot initiative filed by The Utah Patient’s Coalition – a group which advocates for far broader use of medical marijuana with significantly less restrictions than Daw’s bills proposed.

In other words, HB195 and HB197 were designed to be a less undesirablealternative that might prevent a more undesirablepossibility. As he described them in a committee hearing, their limited scope would be merely like dipping a “very small toe in the water” rather than plunging in headfirst. No big deal, really. Only a token nod to keep the more radical elements at bay.

But the problem is – and always had been – that by federal law cannabis is still 100% illegalin everystate, includingUtah.

Did that fact seem to bother Brad Daw? Apparently not. When taking into account that some 30 states thus far have illegally “legalized” marijuana for medical or recreational use (or both), Brad Daw simply pointed out that Congress hasn’t allocated funding to prosecute cultivation, distribution and use in those states.

So, since prosecution “isn’t funded” that’s supposed to mean it’s acceptable to defy federal law and the Constitution? We can only guess that maybe Brad thought (or wished) that Barack Obama was still the President, or Eric Holder was still in charge of the Department of Justice, but thankfully that is no longer the case. There is a new wind blowing from Washington D.C these days which all Republicans ought to be thankful to get in front of, but which Brad Daw seems unable to do.

Utahns don’t require any dubious “preemptive” laws to protect us. That would be like parents telling their teenage sons or daughters that is all right for them to be a “little bit” immoral – provided they weren’t “completely” immoral.  The Utah State Legislature should have enough faith in our Governor to expect that he would veto any legislation or initiative that would have us violate the Constitution’s supremacy clause, or enough confidence in the Utah Supreme Court to know that any such proposal would be struck down as unconstitutional.

All states – Utah included – derive their rights from the Constitution. When one starts to break up the Constitution, what then becomes of the rights of the states, and of the people?

Here are notes from a church talk by Bishops Ellis

  • Matt 25: after Jesus fed 5 K men plus women and children, the disciples take a sea voyage. From the shore, Jesus sees them struggling in the storm.
  • D&C 98:21
  • Dec 21: Joseph Smith praying for aid. Got message that Christ suffered more adversity then he. Joseph’s challenges will be but a small moment. Five months in jail is a small moment.
  • Our trials will be beneficial to use.
  • In the Old Testament, Joseph was sold into Egypt. After trials, he becomes second highest in authority in Egypt. Help brothers who sold him. Brothers asked for help. Joseph sees what was done to him was for good.
  • 1832: Mob sticks a tar stick down joseph’s throat. He clenches his mouth closed and chips a tooth. He was tortured. He would whistle occasionally when he talked. Signey Rigden called a meeting, intending to take over the church after Joseph’s death. Brigham speaks to the congregation. They heard Joseph’s whistle. There were 121 witnesses. 71 were first-hand witnesses.
  • Revelation can come when you’re not in a hurry. Comes when I’m trying to pray or help others.
  • Try to forgive others who wrong me.
  • Prayers come related to our stewardship.
  • We ask in a prayer, we feel our prayers have not been answered.
  • Would you prefer to be a father who loses a son or a son who lost their father? Remembering his experiences of his Dad, he came to realized he preferred to be the son who lost a father.
  • God is in control. We have to forgive others. In the end, God will make it right.
  • Stake presidents: how to be an effective stake president. A friend said He had been cleaned as a temple worker after stake president. If I had served as a temple worker, for serving in the temple expanded my vision, I would have been a better Stake president. My mission would be to be worthy. Do a better job shepherding the saints to lead them to the eternal importance of temple work.
  • Each member of the stake needs to be worthy. Use a temple recommend frequently. This stake presidency has that goal.
