My continued notes from my weight control class. any misinformation if the fault of the note taker

How can we get more active?

  • Set up some long-term goals and short-term goals.
  • Get involved with community sports and community recreations centers.
  • See what resources are available.
  • Schedule time on a daily calendar

  • Schedule a sat event with a friend. Mall shopping or a small hike.
  • Push grandkids down the lazy river.

Fit:

  • F: frequency
  • I: for intensity. We need to challenge our bodies. Heart rate. Exercise 60-70% your heart rate.
  • The talk test> if you walk for 2 min and can’t have a normal conversation then you need to build intensity.
  • There are phone apps that you can put your finger on the thumb area that acts as a sensor and you can monitor your heartbeat.
  • T: time
  • T: Type. Have a warm up and warm down.
  • Pick an exercise that you like and enjoy and you will be more inclined to do them consistently.
  • Change it up so you don’t get stagnate.
  • Increase a notch on your exercise mike or slant. Or different types of exercise.
