Good: leisurely
Bad: leaserly

I just noticed two words, I and SURE in le_I_SURE_ly. I may take a le-I-SURE-ly walk somewhere because I’m sure I’ll reach my destination in the end.

Branding workshop and marketing

Timp Tellers had an excellent workshop this month by presenter was Kip Meacham. He is a professional speaker. He gave us ideas on how to improve our banding and marketing for storytelling. Any misinformation is the fault of the note taker.

In a most horrible situation, some will say that the situation can create a great opportunity. Kip said to think about the story of a man wanting to help others. With that goal, you are able to extend their reach. He referred to Dan Harman who talked about a person who goes up a tree and comes down that tree as a different person. When you have your customer as the hero of the story, all win. Monetization is making money with your passion. You need to know your why and persuade others who have the same interests. What have you done to tell the story of what you want to do? Your story is because of your why?

The beauty of the internet creating and running a business at zero cost. If you stay fearful, you will not advance. Quash your fear by increasing your understanding of the business you pursue.
When stuck, do not think of how but think of who can help and mentor you. Who do you admire? Study what they do and duplicate them with your own slant. Analyze their website and their emails. Deconstruct what they do and emulate. Kip also had some links to share with us.

Here are some notes from a church conference or meeting. Any misinformation is the fault of the note taker. This is the official title.

– Sister Snow said when filled with the spirit of God, did you have any trials? When filled with the spirit my soul is satisfied.
– We have different cultures. What are our person and family culture in regards to living righteously? What can we add to personal and family cultures to lead us to be better people? We don’t change our own culture because we control our culture and don’t seek Christ’s control.
– When you change the way you look at things. Things change.
Elder Drake? My heart pondering continually. Created a word called ponderize. Pondorize can change our personal culture. Has two components chose a verse of scriptures every two weeks and ponder the scriptures several times a day. Some have memorized scriptures.
– Besides that, we can also change our culture
– 1. Develop a culture of gospel learning.
– 2. Temple attention. Look forward to involving friends. re pictures of the temple in the – home?
– 3. Supporting our church leaders. like a change of time for church. Do those around us know we will always support the leaders?
– 4. Do we support the Sabbath? Are we getting the full value of a spiritual rest?
How long are you willing to wait for a personal blessing?
– 3 Nephi 18: apostles administered the sacrament. Christ said ‘blessed are ye for doing this. … If you always remember me ye shall have my spirit to be with you.”
– Worthily taking the sacrament and be willing to be righteous. We may not have achieved full righteousness but we are willing and working on it.
– Honor and obey the lay of God and man.
– Show god we are willing to learn and grow.
– John Greely Woodward wrote: the saddest words of the pen: it might have been.
– Like that, to all the blessings we will miss because we are not willing to work for them.

Spelling Foliage

Good: foliage
Bad: foiledge

There is one thing that may help me with this. Is that I think of smaller plants of living shorter lives then old trees. And the word age is in foliage. Also, plants are not made of tin foil so, avoid the word foil.

Writing Dialog

These are some notes from a writing conference. Any inaccuracies are the fault of the note taker.
1. Dialog is used to reveal character, provide expository information, and provide information needed to move the story forward.
2. In must have an economy of words. How can a character say what they need to say in as few words as possible? Sub-text dialog.
3. In comic, words are shown in word balloons. Reads look at the art. Too much dialog and more art get overwritten. Use an economy of words so balloons are as small as possible.
4. Some try to keep under 25 words per panel or less to establish a habit of brevity.
Writing action or descriptive paragraphs:
1. Action
2. Must be precise and only shown. It’s what the audience will see on the screen on the page.
3. Actin/descriptive paragraphs must be no longer than the four lines in a screenplay. Avoid blocks of descriptive paragraphs.
4. With a graphic novel or comic book, the action is the cues for the artists. There is room for more detail than a screenplay, but give the artist enough room to create.
5. Use action and dialogue to evoke emotions and inner conflict.
6. Red was used in the sixth sense in each scene the ghost was present.
7. Scene header: establish shot used as a cue if night or day.
8. Action in scripts: nothing longer than 4 lines.
