I assume this is a talk from church. Any misinformation is the fault of the note taker.

– Elder Bednor: will I respond to the spirit or put off the natural men.
– In the battle to speak, the Lord would have us to do with overcoming the natural man.
– How you communicate should reflect who you are as a child of God. Good language that uplifts invites the spirit to be with you.
– Elder Holland: prey your words will be encouraging not discouraging.
– We don’t have to use the excuse of uniqueness to swear
– Faith in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ is a price; of action and power. If we are willing to act we will have the power to repent.
– If we are faithful, yoked to the savior we will never fail and he will never fail us.
– Choose friends who use good language.
– Speak kindly to and of others.
– Avoid speaking in anger if you are tempted to say something harsh. Leave them unsaid.

– Elder Holland: we need to think of how we speak to each other and how we speak to ourselves.
– Elder Holland; negative speaking come from negative feelings of ourselves.
– The spirit of the gospel is optimistic. the pessimistic spirit drags man down and pulls them away from God.
– Try not to complain and moan insistently.
