Power of the priesthood

Here are some notes from church. Any inaccurate information or misquotes is the fault of the note taker.

  • God has provided the ability for men of the church to feel God’s power through ordinances.
  • Priesthood can be emissaries on behalf of the Lord.
  • Only through the priesthood, we become strong enough to endure. Bless baby, baptism, blessing of health and comfort as needed, blessings from stake president, missionary services, and general authority who offer a blessing of strength and protection for missionaries. President Nelson and previous prophets have blessed up. Heavenly Father does take care of us.
  • Encourage us to attend the temple as frequently as we can there and in church, we can feel the spirit.
  • Dec 84: sons of Moses should be filled with Glory of the Lord. Whoso is faithful in obtaining these two priesthoods and magnifying their callings are sanctified of their spirit.
  • President oaks: April 2010 priesthood session. Healing the sick. Heal by medical science, priesthood blessings. Most times we pursued all efforts simultaneously.
  • Oaks: five principals: Anointing, sealing then ordaining, faith, words of the prayer, and will of the Lord.
  • Anoint is declared as sanctifications. Also symbolic.
  • To seal means to affirm it and to make it binding to its intended purpose.
  • President Kimble too frequent of administrating the same person may be a sign of lack of faith.
  • Words spoken in healing blessings can edify the listeners. Effect of a blessing depends upon faith and the Lord’s desire. Words are demonstrations of faith. It is the Lord’s blessing that is being felt by the individual.
  • Brigham young: privilege and duty to live so the spirit of the Lord can speak through you.
  • When president young ask, have you sought any remedies? When people would ask for a blessing. It’s like asking the Lord to bless my corn without planting it.
  • The first principle of the lord is faith in the lord of Jesus Christ.
  • Our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ’s is not dependent upon outcomes.
  • These are trying times but they are of times for fear and worry. God has provided ways to take care of us.
