One Response to Policy Videos from Chris Harrod

  1. Got this email from Sharon A.

The subject line of a previous email may have been confusing so here is information about the UTA’s Bus Rapid Transit and the stand of the two candidate who are running for Utah’s 3rd Congressional district: Chris Herrod who fought against BRT and John Curtis who was determined to push it through at all costs. Also included below are links to on the short videos by Chris Herrod on various issues. They are one and a half minutes or less.

    Dear Friends,

The Republican Party primary for the U S 3rd Congressional district seat is June 26th. This is a vote-by-mail election so voting once ballots are mailed on June 5th.

Who do you want to represent YOU in Washington?

    Chris Herrod

    OR

John Curtis , a former chairman of the Utah County Democratic Party

As Provo Mayor, John Curtis was a leading proponent of the Bus Rapid Transit, a project consistent with the Democratic Party Platform which called for increases in federal spending on public transit and contrary to the Republican platform which singled out mass transit and proposed to remove funding of such projects. http://thehill.com/policy/transportation/289305-how-the-democratic-and-gop-platforms-differ-on-infrastructure

The Provo Orem BRT has been renamed TRIP (TRansportation Improvement Project). It is a $150 million project that is already millions over budget, will cost millions annually in taxpayer subsidies to maintain and will negatively impact transportation projects throughout our county for years to come. BRT needlessly confiscated private property and is destroying the beauty of downtown Provo. Thousands of citizens throughout the county and in Provo and Orem opposed the project, and yet John Curtis ignored their objections and refused to let the people vote on the issue. And Curtis wants to represent us in Washington?

Chris Herrod, on the other hand, worked hard to put the BRT issue to the voters. He wanted (and still wants) our voice to be heard. He supports fiscal responsibility in government and will defend our rights to life, liberty and property.

But TIME IS SHORT! Voting for the June 26th Primary will begin June 5 when the vote-by-mail ballots are mailed to all registered Republican voters. The winner of this primary will be the Republican Party candidate on the November ballot.

Below there is an important message from Chris Herrod. Please support Chris Herrod by voting for him, by sharing this information AND by volunteering and donating as you are able.

NOTE: This is a critical time for donations so the sooner donations are made the more impact each dollar will have!! (You can donate on Chris’s website or mail a check to 4125 N Crestview Ave, Provo, UT 84604)
