Here are more notes on a great panel at Life the Universe and Everything SF/F symposium. The topic is on ‘Getting Crying Right’.

– Sometimes criminals break the law, not because of their past, but because they want to. Human motivation is often prompted by a salad, a good idea at the time.
– Criminals will conduct crime is a give them what they want. For example, a man may have a knife at a women’s throat, threatening her life because she dared to snitch against the group that he is a member of
– Criminals may use bad behavior to become the topic of conversation. One boy displays nude front of a whole bunch of other children, and so get attention or did it more and more because he got what he wanted attention.
– Criminals get created when they lose control of their life, such as in drug addiction. When lawyers become involved, they get connected in 2% of people’s lives when they are at their lowest point.
– A prosecutor determines what type of crime has happened
– A public attorney cost of crime.
– Justice needs mercy.
