Leaving an impression:

Facebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedin

Today I want to touch upon the topic of what kind of impression we leave an impressions with others. I hope this topic can be of interest and use to youth ministries, family counselors, family devotionals or family home evenings.

Object lesson: a bunch of paper to scribble on and then all different kinds of markers, pens, pencils of all types of color and anything that can write. Have each member of the family or class take a sheet of paper and start draw designs across the page with the different markers.

Tell the group that each marker can represent each of us. we each leave a mark on the world by our actions and words. We may want to ask ourselves, what kind of mark do we want to be? Maybe have a group discussion making up what each of the markers could represent. Some examples might be compassion, friendliness, intelligence, generosity, strong worth ethic etc.  You can branch this concept into any manner you wish.

Maybe discuss how some marks can be temporary and others can be permanent.

Have ideas to add to this thought? Please share them in the comment section of this blog.

There are a lot of cool people in the world:

Facebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedin

One of the nice things about Facebook is to see example of how people have shown compassions for others or to learn new tricks in life such and seeing people with wonderful talents. There can be some great messages.

I am thinking of how fellow authors have helped me improve my writing. Or I’ll see or learn of people doing wonderful things just for compassion and kindness sake. There are people who will dedicate their lives and careers to helping such as a solider to protect the country to people like police of health care workers.

There are also great people of history such as the man and women who helped, with God’s influence to create the great nation of the United States. Additional people are those individuals mentioned in the scriptures.

I just want to say thanks to a lot of wonderful people.

Spelling Sterile:

Bad:    Steril

Good:  Sterile

I always forget the second e. So when you really want to make sure something is really clean or sterile you clean it twice right. So put in an E twice ie: sterilE.

Why YA fiction:

Facebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedin

This is from a panel I attend about a year ago. Hope my notes will be of use.

  • The agent protagonist determines why a
  • the narrative voice of the character has to be why a bus books of an adult referencing their teen life is not why a
  • middle grade looks with Ian. Why a looks out and wants to see how they can be a part of the world.
  • Each chapter needs to contribute to the characters mingle.
  • Protagonist is persecuted in some way.
  • Make character relatable to the reader.
  • Why a characters or more at the level of adults than middle grade.
  • A main character can be aware of sex but not dissipate.
  • If you’re not comfortable with writing sex, and you try to write sex your discomfort will show.
  • Most publishers don’t want sex or graphic violence in their why a fiction.
  • Write material you don’t mind your family meeting.
  • If you write middle grade and why a adult. It is a good chance the middle grade readers will read your why a action. Thus you want to be aware of adult themes that they may read.
  • When you do fiction with cuss words or sex scenes. Consider what you want to read.
  • McAfee own cuss words.
  • Even the reference to sex is discouraged.
  • New adult: is a genre reserved for college-age protagonists.
  • Cuss words and sex may discourage friends from recommending your books to others. Contemporary YA can quickly get updated on the new versions of speak or slang. The word ‘norally’, is reserved for beach bum, California
  • if you speak about a certain subculture need to know the buzzwords and mindset of the culture
  • Listen to a lot of teenagers and see what they talk about to see what is important to them.
  • Get into dialogue quickly teens want them to the story quickly
  • Melva: need to get team of beta readers

It a matter of perspective:

Facebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedin

Our perspectives can be influenced by our experiences, observations, education and people who influence in our lives. I hope the following topic can be of use to youth ministries, family devotionals, family counselors and family home evenings.

Object lesson: Find a window outside the school or home that you can cover with dirt and mud. Through a succession of days add mud and dirt layer by layer by layer. Build the grind so that is quite heavy and obscures the view of the glass. Make sure that one section of the window remains clean of mud and grime.

The dirty window can be compared to our perspective. Have a class member of a family member. Look out the window that is not dirty and have them explain what they see on the other side. It is see the play yard, or some other scene to the outside have them described it in detail of what they see.

Now clean a new section of grim on the window, you might be able to knock off some of the dirt, grime, by a cloth. But don’t rub it completely clean or wash. Just clean enough so that you can see part of the outside to get an ‘idea’ of what are on the other end, but the smudge still obscures minute details.

The glass can be compared to perspective. We see a certain point of view. If you view one section of the window, we have a specific point of view. When we give ourselves the change to look at another section of cleaned window we see additional details of the overall picture that we didn’t notice before. But we don’t have a complete understanding of what we see because of the foggy image. As we clean away our biases and preconceived perceptions. It can clean away the fog of the window and we can see more clearly.

Start washing away different parts of the Window in cleaning circles in the glass, so that we can see more and more of what’s on the other side. Some of the area circles that are cleaned might be compared to politics, religion, other people that we don’t understand historical events, and concepts of science or opinion. As we began to wipe away obscured perceptions, our understanding can be broadened.

Discuss as a family or class. What are some of the things that could clean away things obscures our perceptions.

In my brainstorming some of the things I can think of are

  1. Learning history. Sometimes we may have a preconceived idea of a historical event without knowing the details of the origins of an event. We want to go to original sources of information do not rely on someone opinion, unless your have found a means to verify their accuracy. Many want to put their own biases and prejudices into moments of history or opinion.
  1. Make an effort to get to know people who you don’t understand. You might build open a dialogue with them to seek their opinion on things. Maybe ask why they feel certain way.
  1. Sometimes understanding people’s past/history or motives for why they say and do certain things can help that can help us understand them. Be careful of people who want to manipulate people for personal gain. Many people have the own private agendas when sharing knowledge of perceptions. Their goal may be the influence or obscure your ideas. My invitation for each of us be our own thinker and to resist the herd mentality. I have always liked the phrase ‘trust but verify’.
  1. In regards to our relationships to God, one thing I work on to know him is to understand how he’s acted in the past and to learn more of his teachings. I also have the option of personal prayer that can help me in private revelation. I may also seek the knowledge and example of those; I feel are good representations of God. This may be by word or by action.
  1. Sometimes me just getting a wider range of experiences. My insights have broadened when I have had the opportunity to travel. Reading, education or just self-study can help me broaden my understandings. This week I learned the origin of the Pledge of Allegiance. That knowledge now broadens my perception of what the Pledge of Allegiance represents to me.

I invite you as a class or family to brainstorm on various techniques and topics perception. Discuss how they get created originally and the negative and positive ways they can be broadened.

Warnings about vaccines:

Facebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedin

Tonight I attended a lecture presented by Dr. Stockwell about the problem with vaccinations. I found it to be very informative. I hope these notes can be of help or of interest to others who may be interested in this topic

Infant antibodies:

A baby inherits antibodies from his mother through the placenta barrier. Those antibiotics are depleted after the first month. A baby does not start to grow its own antibodies until the age of 12-20

There are two types of innate immunity

A: Cell Medicated: is the first step against infection. These are also known as T cells that are created in the body to help against infections. They determine what needs to be fought to keep the body healthy. This is an important process that prepares the body to defend itself against future infections of similar type. It creates natural barriers

B: Humoral B cells: is the second step against infection. These create antibodies that can stop infections disease. Vaccines trigger Humanual without creating the Cell Medicated immunities which is necessary to protect the body against future infections of the same type.

Vaccines have Mercury, aluminum or falamahide. These are said to be necessary additives called, preservatives, but actually used to force the body to react to an imaginary infection. (Which cell medicated would normally do) It does not prepare the body to create defenses of future similar infections. There is no long-term research on the effectiveness of vaccines. 20 to 40% of kids have chronic sickness within the last 40 years vaccines have become popular. Vaccines are created to make antibodies without the child getting sick.

Dr. Roja Lee, (sp) 1951. Shared warnings about vaccines and the federal government destroyed his paperwork and threatened him with imprisonment. Check out the website: WestonAPrire.org (hope I spelled that right)

Smallpox comes from bedbugs that have been affected with smallpox. That’s why poor people get infected with smallpox, from such items as blankets

There is this herd mentality. People that like vaccines want everyone have vaccines. They don’t want kids that have been not been vaccinated to be around their children. But if vaccines work and why should those kids be in threat?

Single spinal ligament: is activated by corapractors. is a key element to health.

Lawrence Livermore: was commissioned by the government to weaponries Ebonic Plague. Fleas have a body temperature of 10° below humans and when fleas bite humans. The disease is transferred.

The prescription prednisone kills antibiotics and so its use can be problematic.

The Parra thyroid monitors, calcium. Calcium is the key ingredient to help combat infections. It is recommended that before you go to the hospital to take as much natural calcium as you can. There are some sources of calcium in its natural state

  • calcium lactate (6 per day)
  • Cataplexy F (3 per day)
  • Cataplex C (6 per day)
  • The classic 636

If people give you a hard time about not taking vaccines ask for documentation of long term research that shows it has been a positive effect. One person during the conference, said that such studies will not be performed because it could mean a loss of money for drug. If you had to take vaccines because of work for other pressures to do the following:  a. Taking a lot of calcium in its natural state. b. Have each vaccine done one shot at a time with time between them and not all at once.

a place to get whole milk, maybe unpasteurized, not certain is at 800 N state near Real Foods.

Any mistakes in my notes are likely due to my note taking.

Spelling Muhammad:

Bad:   Mohommad.

Good: Muhammad

I spell this wrong consistently so I need to determine what areas in the word I get wrong and concentrate on those problem areas. I need to remember the A and the U.

A I might remember because the prophet MuhAmmad is such an important part of the lives for people living in Arabian countries.

U can be a visual image. When I think of Islam and Muhammad I believe there is a prophecy of prophet Muhammad coming from a well The U could visually represent the well and thus I might remember U.

We’ll see if I can do a better job in spelling Muhammad.
