Basic elements of romance:

Facebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedin

Went to presentation by Heather B. Moore. Here are my notes.

  • At the pleasant Grove library, they have an author. There once a month and tonight they had Heather be more. She is a romance writer and here are the notes I took my presentation.
  • The main plot revolves around the love between two people and the obstacles they have to overcome.
  • Romance has a happy ending, where the characters find true love.
  • Many romances, markets/publishers have strict guidelines.
  • Single title romance is a standalone book.
  • A romance is a book that is completely dependable upon the romance in the plot. Otherwise, it will fall apart.
  • Some genres of romance: romantic suspense, contemporary romance (1950 or later) nostalgia romance (1960s or later), a Roddick romance (explicit physical activity). With erotica when you post these books on online markets, you have to state 18+ of age. Historical romance (1940) inspirational romance (clean/sweet romance) religious romance (God, religion is a central component of the romance), mystery/suspense/thriller:
  • Mystery romance has three categories.

Ministry is who did the crime,

Suspense, try to prevent a crime from occurring,

Thriller is like suspense, but thriller involves global or planetary consequences.

  • Why a romance is when the character is under 19. Remember that kids want to read up two years older than their own age. Most YA readers are between 16 to 17 years old.
  • New adult are is when the character is between 20 to 30. It was once was called chick lit. It was also once called romantic comedy, but now new adult.
  • Clean romance is nothing beyond PG in language and nothing graphic while Christian romance is also clean but has a religious component.
  • As you go to a bookstore before you write try to determine where in the bookstore your book would belong some of the categories are historical romance (1811 – 1820). This patient has strict rules of culture and social conventions. Scottish romance represents characters of that nation. Medieval romance early 1800s. Historical romance, the stories of the West Cowboys ranches etc. This type of book and also include mail order brides.
  • Popularity of romance in 2013 is seen by the genre earning $1.8 billion. Romance is 13% of the adult fiction market. Romance books are divided up into 39%, e-books, 32% mass-market. (big print} 18% is trade paperback. 9% hardcover. 1%, audiobooks. The most prominent age of romance readers range between the aged 30 to 54
  • How to write romance:

If romance is a site theme of the book. You don’t have to and with the characters becoming the own true love. Maybe just a kiss our first date could satisfy the reader.

Boy and girl must meet early in the book.

Something brings them together.

Something causes a conflict.

The couple begins to have an attraction.

  • Questions you will want to ask why the character has not gotten married before. What is the characters quirk, so they are not all perfect.
  • Check out the book the Rosie project. This is a story about a college professor who uses logic to find a wife and finds someone completely opposite for what he seeks.
  • What is the conflict that keeps the characters apart?
  • How will the couple overcome their conflict?
  • Writing that awkward kissing scene: It’s important to involve the five senses which are touch, smell, sight, taste hearing. They need to have pleasant associations. You’d want to touch about the anticipation, the smell feeling of a heartbeat fingers in the hair hands across the arm whispered words reluctant 1430 some of the phrases and images you’d want to share.
  • The relationship is the most important part of a romance. In a romance, you need to have a steady progression of the developing romance. Do not skip. Readers want the details and the gradual advancement of the relationship. Show the evolution of when the couple begins to find feelings for each other.
  • Self-publishing is not as a means that can let you publish a lot of material the shore. Of time as publishing hard copy takes time to go through all the process.
  • Some authors will restrict the contracts to the publishers for a certain type of book. Where some authors can do novel was outside of the realm of the contract to their publisher.

Advice on sprouting:

Facebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedin

Searched the web and found this advice. Sources are at the bottom.

  • What can you grow from seed when the days are cold, dark and short? Answer: bean sprouts!
  • Some seed varieties produce roots with amazingly fuzzy white hairs that appear in a mass. (Radish and broccoli are good examples.) These white roots are natural and are not mold or fungus.
  • They’re packed with vitamins and nutrients, good for your health and fighting off those pesky colds that abound in cities in winter.
  • After your sprouts are the desired length, they should be placed in the refrigerator 6-8 hours after your last rinse.
  • A huge variety of seeds can easily be grown to eat as sprouts including radish, pea, chick pea, mung beans, alfalfa, fenugreek, sunflower, lentil, and broccoli.
  • It is best to eat them within one week for optimum freshness. After that first week they will start to decline and lose nutrients and flavor.
  • Many dried pulses like mung beans or chick peas from the supermarket or health food shop will sprout just as well at a fraction of the cost.
  • How many seeds should you use in the sprouter? For small seeded varieties (alfalfa, broccoli, Sandwich Mix, etc.), use 1 ½ tablespoons. For larger seeded items (like beans and wheat berries), use 2 tablespoons.
  • Self-made sprouter: bottle with piece of old shirt instead, attached with an elastic band
  • Pre-soaking seeds in water before placing them in the tray will allow them to plump up a bit so they’ll be less likely to fall through lids with small holes.
  • You should be aware that, like some other foods (oysters for example), sprouts have on occasion been the source of Ecoli and Salmonella food poisoning (carried inside the seeds).
  • Are the seed roots supposed to go through the floor of the tray? Yes, this is common. Roots are programmed to move downwards and naturally seek out the slits because they are looking for the path of least resistance. The slits in the tray allow for water drainage and air circulation that is important for healthy root development.
  • One should always cook sprouted chickpeas before eating them – steam, boil or add them to soup, for example. The reason she gave is that they contain some chemical when raw that is harmful to humans.
  • Sprouting is essentially a raw food diet consumed for better health and aids weight loss.
  • Add sprouts to your salad, will give the salad an extra nutty angle
  • You can sprout peas, ground nuts, barley, wheat, carrot seeds, radish seeds, Lima beans, garbanzo beans and more.
  • Put them in a bowl add lemon juice sprinkle black salt (rock salt) add dash of chillie pwd add roasted cumin and coriander pwd add crushed peanuts(opt) chat pwd (Indian flavors) mix well a
  • Sprouts contain 100 % more protein, fiber and goodness than eating raw fruits and vegetables.
  • If you see a fuzzy, gelatinous growth around young sprouts, that’s a type of water mold that specifically thrives on seeds and wet conditions.
  • Consuming a cup of sprouts can reduce hair fall, slow the process of aging, and reduce gastronomical troubles, effective against constipation and ulcers.
  • Carrots sown thickly in a tray and then harvested for the leaves when an inch or two high – good added to salads. This would be a quick and easy way to get the leaves. The problem with carrots from seeds is they take so long to germinate; you can trick the seeds by putting them in the freezer for a couple of hours then take them out to imitate the start of spring. Also the outside of the seed is super hard so you can lightly use some sand paper on them, but don’t go crazy.
  • It would be beneficial to add a generous portion of healthy and nutritious sprouts to your regular diet.
  • Steps to sprouting:

Put some seeds in the bottom of the jar and cover with water to soak for twelve hours.

After twelve hours rinse the seeds in water (ideally the water should be at room temperature

Repeat the rinsing process at least once every 12 hours until the sprouts are ready – usually about 2 to 4 days.

Eat the sprouts straight away. Or transfer them to a plastic bag in the fridge where they keep well for several days

Last Day Lecture part 2:

These are a continuation of notes from an emergency fair/book of Mormon evidence conference I attended last spring. This was my favorite lecture. It was lengthy but very interesting.

Second War:

  • Check out Ezekiel 9:2 –7, DC 112:23,
  • The second war shall last one day one month and one year.
  • The second war is described in the second half of revelations nine. Cha last one year, one month, one day, one hour
  • One third of the people shall be killed.
  • Army shall be 200 million soldiers.
  • After war survivors do not repent from devil worship.
  • Who can put together 200 million soldiers, China. China has signed an agreement with Russia.
  • Then even divided up the country as to who gets what part of the land.
  • The enemy will be kept at bay by miracles.
  • We don’t know how to start spelling know how it ends.
  • Two prophets will be killed as the enemy moves forward in three and have days, the province will rise up.
  • While looking up the spelling of the war I found this interesting link: http://jahtruth.net/theiofk.htm

The consummate whistle blower this Friday, 6th:

Facebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedin

Event is this Friday not last, Friday the 6th.

This month we are bringing you the consummate whistle blower who was deep inside the power structure of the political elite and who has basically risked it all to come out and expose the evil.  Come meet the only man in the history of the nation that has caused a US President to become impeached.  Of the 38 public Clinton scandals, he brought 37 of them to light.  He knows where the bodies are buried both in the past with Bill and now in 2015 with Hillary.  His name is Larry Nichols and he has been on countless radio and TV shows telling his story.  Want the truth about Hillary?  Want the truth on Vince Foster, Whitewater, Bengazi, and the orchestrated Emailgate?  And much, much, more including why Hillary will likely be the next president.

Side note: Please visit our sponsor MedicalCostShare.com to learn how
you can become exempt from Obamacare and save thousands on your healthcare.

You may be thinking to yourself, “What do I care about the Clintons?  That’s ancient history!”  Well my friends, history repeats itself and whether you think, Hillary will be the next president or not is really irrelevant.  What Mr. Nichols is coming share with us is much bigger than that.  He is coming to us for one reason and one reason only.  To try to save the country which is nearly in the throes of death and on life support, even as we speak.  And he has the key to the solution that you do not want to miss.

But before you go any farther….

Here are two 30 minute videos that you absolutely need to watch- today- especially if you are thinking that you know everything already or that this is old news and you are not planning on coming..   By the way, he has new information and a smoking gun that will go way beyond these videos which were shot in June and September of this year.

DISCLAIMER:  We do not support any political party or candidate.  We only seek truth and bring to light all the hidden things of darkness, wherever they be found.

Many people claim that we are all about fear mongering or doom and gloom.  Well, if your house is on fire and someone is yelling at you to wake up and get out, is that fear mongering?  Is that doom and gloom?  Recognition and awakening to your “awful situation”  is the first step to being able to prepare for, OR help join with, those who are trying to defend against or mitigate the problem.  Or you can choose to stay in your bed and go back to sleep.

If you are convinced that Trump is going to beat Hillary and save America, you might be interested in this compilation of ongoing polls that continue to show, in a head to head race…. Hillary beats Trump nearly every time and in nearly every single poll.    http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2016/president/us/general_election_trump_vs_clinton-5491.html    Maybe surprising to you but no less indicative of the probable outcome.

A reporter asked Bill Clinton, “What are Hillary’s three biggest challenges to becoming the next president?”  His answer was, “1. Larry Nichols 2. Larry Nichols and 3. Larry Nichols.”

So we invite you to come to our next meeting.  You may find out, that you really don’t know what you don’t know and it may be of some value to you as you attempt to discern truth and try to feel your way through the Matrix that we now find ourselves in at this exciting time in the history of the world.  Hope to see you there!

Tall tales:

Facebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedin

I went to a presentation by a story teller named Kathleen. She had good info on tall tales. Any inaccuracies are the fault of the note taker.

  • Go back to the third grade when everything was possible.
  • Tall tales are suppressed, compounds or stories that exaggerated.
  • Make your audience know that the story is supposed to be funny.
  • How details to a small and staff to the old. Tall tales. A top hat has been at the end of the familiar characters with cream on top to make it familiar.
  • Power words such as toxic.
  • Place
  • Friends of character.
  • Story creation: the top and bottom of character
  • Tall tales influenced the colonization of the United States. The Pioneer would exaggerate with the places of the country to motivate people to move there
  • In the 1800s. They had called to postcards.
  • Seeing is believing. That would display such pictures as it had Is being carried by a plane
  • Writing the letter is a good way to start a story where you have to explain things to the reader that are not there. Write letters to people who annoy you
  • Backstory out is why something happened Mississippi God it’s curves. Another example is that chickens could swim, so they were changed to have skin between the toes in MS McCain.
  • Tell tall tales as real events.
  • To tell to have a beginning, middle and end. Start: introduce the character something should be oversized or special qualities. Show them as they are in a normal day, the problem is to be oversized then introduced the problem.
  • Middle: plot thickens have a least three attempts to solve the problem. This is where you can exaggerate the events make it top-heavy getting more embellished as you go. Make sure the easy-to-follow. Patrons the details.
  • And: resolution, show growth between the beginning to the end, some lessons learned. You may have a gotcha.
  • With the cherry on top to bring the story back to normal.
  • Tell it as if you believe it.
  • Picture book where the wild things are is a wonderful example of a tall tale.
  • The judges of the largest compensation like understated tall tales. Adults like cognitive conceit. and see. I don’t like them have
