Avoiding Burnout in Toastmasters

  • As officers we may feel we don’t want to finish the race.
  • There are different disappointment’s as officer, but we need to finish the race.
  • Napoleon hillp: effort only fully reveals its reward when a person finishes.
  • Some roles are more time consuming then others.
  • Some rolls are less recognized.
  • Need to address culture conflicts between members.
  • Burnout may be influenced by time management or development.
  • Don’t know how to say no to delegations so we don’t’ bring too much on ourselves.
  • Time managements: we need to manage our time well.
  • Delegations: need to ask for help.
  • Sometimes maybe a perfectionist, everything does not have to be perfect.
  • Have an open house.
  • Need to find why people have stopped working. Reach out to them.
  • If you have a look at the needs of your club. People want to join if they see comradely of the club.
