The three As

These are notes from a church talk. Any misinformation is the fault of the note taker.

Agency:
– When you pick up a stick by one end you get the other end too. When you make a decision and you carry out the threat / intent you have for that stick. Maybe you’ll see the dirt on the other end you can toss it. Some people will be supportive of how you use the stick. This is agency and accountability.
– Strength of youth: quote: Heavenly Father has given you agency to act for yourself.
– The right to direct your life is one of God’s greatest blessings to you.
– You are responsible for the choices you make.
– While you are free to choose your course or actions you are not free to avoid the consequences.
Atonement:
– When our garments become dirty with sin the atonement can atone for the winds of the world.
Adversity:
– Alma and Amulic: Amulic lost friends after he becomes converted to the gospel. Alma takes Amulic to his home.
– James 1:22 be ye doers of the work
– James 1:25: doers work shall be blessed in the deed.
– Storms will come to take us down. The adversary is increasing his attack on faith. We need a counter-strategy. We need proactive plans such as Come Follow Me. Putting these acts into place will fortify our families.
– There are thorns that go with the roses.
– Elder Legrand: our major success is simply trying over and over.
– Elder Cook: the goal is to obtain a deep and last conversion of adults and the rising generations.
– Rely upon Christ to change our hearts.
– It requires consistent and daily efforts to live the gospel of Christ.
– Use the hog to learn and link other gospel truths Elder Bednar says. We are blessed to receive precious perspectives and increase spiritual capacity and ears that can hear his voice.
– Some have seen the Lord’s hands in their lives.
– Youth song: he has given us directions so he can bless us with his grace. .. Follow whatever he says we’ll be forever changed.
– Mathew 7: a foundation is built upon a rock. Is like a man who hears the word of the Lord.
– Come follow me: it asks questions for you to think about or to notice patterns in themes. The pattern of shepherds listen, act, and testify. Was a pattern.
– Follows these suggestions we will be fortified against the adversary.
