Here are my notes on a church talk. Any misinformation is the fault of the note taker. (Title by Melva)

– President Nelson has extended invitations for members to act. On the greatest cause of the earth is the gathering of Israel.
– How are you doing with the savior’s repeated invitation to come follow me? It is an ongoing process throughout our life.
– No more important choice that the seriously follow Christ.
– Nelson says you will not find this process in a manual. The Holy Ghost will guide you.
– We are all in different places of the convenient path. It is not as much as important of where you are on that path but that we are on it.
– When the Savior began his ministry, he was walking by the sea and saw two brothers he called them to be fishers of men. They straightway followed him. This set a pattern of discipleship.
– In order to follow the Savior, they left their ship to follow him. We need to let things go.
– The choice to follow the Savior is more important than the things we leave behind.
– Those first disciples left nets, jobs, home, and family. For us, we might leave a grudge. Mindless hours of screen time, neglected prayer, envy, minimal time in the temple. Or pride.
– Nelson: this endeavor will require you to leave any things of the world.
– This will give you a chance to examine your life meticulously. The Holy Ghost can release you of things that are not important.
– As you move from the world of distractions. You will need to say no to some things.
– As you concentrate your life to the world your spiritual strength will amaze you. Are you ready to be amazed?
– Is there something in your life that needs to be let go of and be left behind.
– As we leave things behind we will create space for things of spiritual value.
– As we begin a new yr. and decade we remember that Nelson said the church if facing a hinge point of the gospel. Consider our personal growth.
Luke 2:52> Christ’s growth.
a. Intellectual, physical spiritual and social growth. It is a pattern to be like the Savior.
b. We have the opportunity to study the book of Mormon. Read it with new eyes and ponder of heart. Study it like you’ve never done before. You will find that you will get nearer to God.
c. There is power in the book to change lives but it has to be opened.
d. We must follow the savior no matter where it leads and the cost. Don’t forget the first disciples who had the strength to let go.
