The needs before us

Here are some notes from a meeting church. Any misinformation is the fault of the note taker.

– In natural disasters, many people came out to help.
– President Monson: I believe the savior unless we lose ourselves in the services of others there is little purpose in our lives.
– Service at home is often important.
– We live in a society where we pay attention to technology more than people.
– The essence of the gospel is service.
– It is easy to get distracted and that diversion takes away our focus from service.
– One area of focus can be our ward families. Look around your peers to seek out others
– We are the hands of Christ.
– Follow inspiration and act. One act may lead to other things.
– You can teach by example acts of compassion to your neighbors
– When you feel a prompt of a strong sense of love for someone, that feeling is a calling to help them.
– Sometimes if you feel prompt by the spirit to not help for safety reasons, heed that promptly as well.
– Look for ways to bless your communities.
– President Kimble: God does notice us and watches over us. He meets our needs through another person.
