Keto for writers: (Keto is a type of diet)

facebooktwittergoogle_plusredditpinterestlinkedin

I had the chance to attend the Utah Writers League conference this year because of the generously of a fellow writer, who couldn’t go. Here are my notes.

 Cut out the meat and cheese. We have the wish to write a trilogy. One feels good about writing a book but writing it can be very slow.
 Write short stories. White as many as you can in categories that you don’t normally write. In every general. Short stories are simple and to the point.
 Start submitting in as many places as you can. Including free places.
 Submitting it to the latest contest.
 Intermittent fasting: volunteer everywhere you can as often as you can. It isn’t what you know but who you know, you need to position yourself so you know where to be.
 Follow through on the commitments you volunteer for.
 Set time aside for essentials. Keep everything in perspective.
 Writing short stories gives you a chance to improve your craft and can help you come up with additional ideas.

Do you have something to add? If you do, please respond in the comment section of this blog. Thanks.
