Spelling incapacitate

Good: incapacitate

Bad:   incompasitate

I have two areas of this word that I trip over. Cap and Sit. So maybe this will help. To inCAPaCitate I need to cap or cut off one’s ability.

Another idea is to cap or stop one’s defense inCAPacitate.
