Move forward with faith

These are notes from a talk at church.

  • Faith prompts us to pray and go to work.
  • When raising children, faith dictates all your actions. You can teach children when they make a mistake that they can repent and with faith continue to be better.
  • One single mother uses faith to work two jobs and go to school and raise a family
  • Faith is the basis of testimony
  • We have examples of the faith of the pioneers as examples. They left their homes and crossed the plains into the unknown.
  • Faith can include we will do what we can do and let God help us with the rest.
  • Mother had insomnia for weeks in fear her child would stop breathing in the night. She was so tired. She prayed for God to assure that her child would be cared for the night. She had a calm spirit and comforted she could then sleep.
  • Concentrating on other people’s needs can help us not worry so much on our own.
  • Sometimes we can see ourselves today and how we have survived past challenges and that can encourage us to think we can overcome future challenges.
  • Faith in the gospel and principle of Christ. Those principals can give us peace.
  • The antidote to fear is the pure love of Christ.
