Notes from church

  • We must be constantly aware of those who come into the gospel and maintain contacts.
  • New members don’t know all the rules on how to fulfill a calling and we need to have patience as they acclimate to the ways the church does things.
  • Many people feel that once they are baptized the member no longer care about them.
  • Other people report how they have been supported and welcome into the gospel and it makes it easier for them to be strong in the church.
  • The gospel gives them a new outlook on life and a new perspective. They change their lives.
  • We must never lose sight of the importance of the individual.
  • A convert testimony turns cold is a tragedy.
  • Members of the church who are unethical in their business actives can discourage people from investigating the church or being active in the gospel. One’s behavior is a reflection of the church.
  • Youtube: one by one song.
  • Converts don’t have the extensive knowledge of the church and need to grow from the basics.
  • Remember that we have our own language in the church and they don’t know what terms mean i.e.: visiting teaching, high council, steakhouse. We need to be patient.
  • It is extremely scary to go to church and wonder if anyone will say hi and interact with them.
  • Watch making less active as their current project. The relationships need to be unconditional. We need to be consistent in our friendships. Some teens don’t give others the time of day until they became a project.
  • Different investigators and inactive have their own time frame. Being constant in friendship makes you ready when they are ready. One aunt visits an inactive niece. Just talked about other things and maintained a friendship.
  • Sometimes investigators don’t return. They feel too much pressure on wanting them active. Just love others for who they are.
  • It’s not an easy thing to transition our life into the gospel. It can mean changing friendships, stopping fulfillments of past aspirations and loneliness.
  • Even existing members need to be reconverted to different subjects. If we are all a kinder and less judgmental we can help someone.
  • God is sad because of our lock of fellowship because someone is lost.
  • If attendees don’t have a friend at church they will be drawn back to the place where they had friends.
  • We can all offer friendly greetings when someone new comes in.
