This is not the name of the panel but it is what it’s about. I recently attended a Book of Mormon evidence conference. I listened to a number of panels that gave archaeological evidence of where events occurred in Northern America that matched the events in the Book of Mormon. It was a great conference. The concept that the book of Mormon population resided in Mesoamerica came from the articles listed in the Sun-Times. By Joseph Smith stated that this is that I have the way across the river from another. See DC 125:3

From September through October 1842, William Smith, Joseph, brother, publish three articles. They were anonymous. Joseph Smith in the Wentworth letter talked about the Book of Mormon events occurring in this country

  1. Filter landmass says that the events of the Book Mormon could not have covered the entire continent. The heartland area covers about 750 miles.
  2. Scriptures can’t be modified to fit theories of the book Mormon occurring in Mesoamerica.
  3. The references in the book Mormon of the river Sidon and the sea West. There is evidence that the river has changed course throughout the centuries. For example, there were some treasure hunters that were looking for a ship by the name of Arbia, which had sunk in the Mississippi River. They couldn’t find it. When it was discussed that the river has changes course in the past, they were told to go a half mile in land to where the River course used to exist. They found the ship. It was a hot one half mile away and 45 feet deep.
  4. There is evidence of past cities
