Second Amendment:

A number of months ago I attended a political meeting that talked about the importance of the Second Amendment. This is some of the notes I took during the presentation. Some of these are references to court debates that made influences upon gun rights. Any incoherent areas of my notes are due to my bad note taking.

– The Second Amendment is not just about a regular militia. We have individual right to bear arms.
– Car to DC versus Heller year 2008.
– Article 1 section 1. It talks about people defending themselves. I don’t recall if this is United States Constitution or the Utah Constitution.
– Book: that every man may be armed.
– Related book to be a man might of military.
– Utah law: to carry guns at schools and government sites. Lawyers found not been obeyed, made objection to law not being followed.
– There are 72 to 80 million gun owners with 300 million guns.
– McDonald versus Chicago: federal and state can’t prohibit gun rights.
– Moree versus medgin = can carry
– Palmer versus District of Washington, and Tyler versus Hillsdale, Sheriff Department.
